I was always a happy laid back kind of woman who seen the positive in pretty much everyone and everything.
That all changed when i turned 40! I sat on my couch one day thinking what is wrong with me? I had become like a ticking time bomb! AM I GOING CRAZY!!?
Over time i began to feel depressed and anxious which led to fear and isolation. I pretty much locked myself in my house and laid on my couch trying to figure out why? What’s wrong with me?
My Dr. had Just labeled it depression, i started antidepressants, within a month i started to feel a tad bit better but still not myself. Why? My life was good i had no reason to feel this way.
Fast forward a few years, decided to do some reading and research which finally gave me answers, i was transitioning into midlife, midlife starts at 40 and was also starting perimenopause which is the early stages of menopause!!
So much was changing mentally and physically that i needed to STOP! feeling sorry for myself and start owning this transition, after all i still have allot of life left.
Now 48! I am doing so much better thanks to many changes in my life. There are still ups and downs. I am just taking it day by day.
I started Midlife Mirror on health, wellness & beauty for midlife women about a year and a half ago. Some topics are meditation, skincare, aging, and hot flashes just to name a few.
